Bill Nye "The Science Guy" Asks Flat Earthers to Go The Edge, Take a Photo and Post it Online... Meamwhile, Nobody Can Go To Antarctica!Bill Nye, the poster boy for the recent "Science March" which took place today, on earth day, co-authors an article entitled, "How to Shut Down Flat Earthers, According to Bill Nye". This is gonna be delicious. The NYT is billing the march for Science as an Anti-Trump Rally. In his article on Inverse.com, published April 19th, 2017, Nye invites flat earthers to take a photo of the edge and post it on the internet. This is hilarious because nobody can go further South than the 66 Degree of Southern Latitude without permission from the United Nations, and all the countries whom signed the peace treaty back in December of 1959 (but a few years after the formation of NASA). So essentially, Bill implies by this Flat Earthers may travel through the no fly zone above antarctica to "snap a photo of the edge" and "post it on the internet" while "they wait". Though Bill Nye didn't mention antarctica or the no-fly zone, these must be part of a journey to the theoretical edge which everyone knows, if it exists, would be some distance southward. Bill's invitation seems to imply a friendly disposition towards such an exploration. Does that then mean his cohorts at NASA may be happy to grant a south-bearing charter to navigate beyond the sixty-sixth Line of Latitude in pursuit of this illusory edge? If so, we'll wait. No one rationally questions whether or not a journey southward beyond the lines of the antarctic treaty would be what was necessary in order to investigate the existence of a theoretical edge. I can think of a few wealthy Flat Earthers (possibly someone like Kyrie Irving) whom might charter a flight southward beyond the sixty-sixth Line of Latitude. As long as we're on the topic of chartering flights, it would be far easier to go Due East-West along the Tropic of Capricorn to prove a significantly larger circumference at 23.5 Degrees below the equator than 23.5 Degrees above the equator at the Tropic of Cancer. My conjecture is that the circumnavigational distance Due East-West along the Tropic of Capricorn would be significantly larger than the ~25,000 Miles at the Equator, and to such a degree that the mere 5 Miles of pear-shapedness* attributed to the Southern Hemisphere, would be a far cry from accounting for it. In the same article Nye points out that, "Anti-vaxxers, Chemtrails enthusiasts, and NASA moon-landing conspirators are notoriously difficult to engage with in rational dialogue, but the flat-Earthers are arguably the most difficult to debate with because their claims are so wildly off-base." EXCERPT QUOTE FROM VLOG BELOW: "Just the fact that Bill Nye would co-author an article which mentions NASA moon-landing conspirators, Chemtrail enthusiasts, and Anti-vaxxers is unprecedented. We're in totally new terrain here. Scientism is on the ropes. They are holding marches. And one reason they didn't want to hold a march is they were concerned it would look like a political party. Well good reason for such concerns for Scientism is a political party and they are enlisting atheists by the droves. However, Flat Earthers whom are notoriously difficult to debate with, will not be fooled. We will not be budged from this stationary earth. We will not be moved by your faux-ideology and we love seeing you continue to backpedal. Today you are mentioning Anti-Vaxxers and NASA Moon Landing Conspirators as less wildly off base than Flat Earthers so today you are giving credit to the Truther components that moved us into Flat Earth. It will not be long till our Flat Earth Movement is well known by everybody." Comments are closed.
